Steven Smarra earned his Master’s degree in Education (M.Ed.) in School Counseling from Western Washington University. He is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (RMHCI) with experience working in both school-based and clinical settings, supporting children, adolescents, adults, veterans, couples, and families.
Steven has worked with individuals and families presenting with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, trauma, emotional and behavioral challenges, adjustment-related concerns, and relationship difficulties. His background as a school counselor allows him to effectively support youth navigating academic, social, and emotional stressors, while also collaborating with families and school systems to promote long-term success.
Steven’s counseling style focuses on creating a safe, supportive environment where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. He takes a client-centered, trauma-informed, and collaborative approach, emphasizing cultural sensitivity and a judgment-free space. As a Navy veteran, Steven brings a unique understanding of resilience and is especially passionate about supporting fellow veterans and their families.
