Abbigail Baumstark is a graduate student in the Couples and Family Therapy program at Nova Southeastern University, currently completing her practicum at Marriage and Family Services. Originally from California, Abbigail brings a warm, inclusive, and compassionate approach to her work with individuals, couples, and families.

 

She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Miami, where she developed a deep appreciation for the role of culture, identity, and environment in shaping human experience. Abbigail is passionate about working with clients across a wide range of concerns, including sex and intimacy, LGBTQ+ identity and relationships, parenting, family dynamics, and couples struggling with communication or infidelity.

Grounded in a systemic contextual approach, Abbigail believes that every individual must be understood within the context of their relationships, family history, and sociocultural environment. She is dedicated to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel seen and supported in their unique life journeys.

Abbigail has extensive experience working with children and is especially attuned to their emotional and developmental needs. She has provided care and support to children in a variety of settings and finds deep fulfillment in helping them express themselves, process complex emotions, and feel empowered within their families.

In addition to her clinical training, Abbigail is trained in Collaborative Divorce, supporting families through separation in a respectful and emotionally sensitive way, with a strong focus on the well-being of children.

Abbigail strives to help clients foster deeper connection, healing, and resilience through an approach that honors both individual identity and the complexity of the systems they are part of.
