Practicum Students are current Master’s degree students gaining experience in the counseling field under the direct supervision of a clinical director at their specified site and a supervisor at their university.
Registered Interns are mental health professionals who have completed a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling or a related field. They are registered with a state board, hold an active license, and provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families.
Licensed Therapists are mental health professionals who have completed a master’s or doctoral degree in counseling or a related field and has completed over 1,500 hours of clinical experience in at least a two-year span. Licensed therapists offer the same services as a registered intern, but do not require additional supervision per state guidelines.
Here at Marriage & Family Services, we continue to expand our scope of care to ensure all clients have access to the help they need. Therefore, Psychiatric Evaluations and Medication Management appointments will be available both In-person and Virtually.
